Miles J. Nevin on Swoop’s World Late Night

On Wednesday March 23, 2011 @ 10pm on Swoop’s World Late Night we are happy to have as our guest Miles J. Nevin, the Executive Director of The California State Student Association. Miles will give us an inside look into the California State University system and the things that have been affecting parents and students in recent years. Including rising tuition, safety on campus, and the future outlook of the California University system.

After Miles, we will of course be up to our usual antics including another “Brewskis” beer tasting segment sponsored by DrinksWinesSpirits.com as well as “T-Bones Timeout” sports segment, and a few surprises.

Miles J. Nevin is Executive Director of The California State Student Association (CSSA). In this role he serves as the senior director of the nation’s largest statewide student association, representing 433,000 students attending the 23 campus California State University (CSU) System to the California Legislature and CSU Board of Trustees.

Prior to joining CSSA, Miles served as the Marketing and Public Relations Manager of Children Today, Inc., an organization providing early childhood education to children experiencing homelessness in Long Beach. Miles has also served roles as Director of Development at St. Anthony High School, Coordinator of Student Life and Development at Cal State Long Beach, and as a Legislative Aide to a former Long Beach city councilmember.

Miles lives in Long Beach and is passionate about education and public policy. In addition to serving as an advisory board member for the Campaign for College Opportunity, Miles also serves as an associated board member of Children Today, Inc., and as an advisory board member of the CSU Long Beach Leadership Resource Center.

Miles attended CSU Long Beach where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and is currently finishing his final year at CSU Long Beach’s Graduate Center for Public Policy and Administration.
