We explore the facts of So Cal based “arts events” to see if they create exposure, and profits for working artists, musicians, and performers, or are they just cool “social events” for friends and neighbors to gather and schmooze?

On Wednesday August 18, 2010 @ 9pm on Swoop’s World Radio, Swoop and Peter take on the subject of the Arts with a twist, by actually looking at arts events within a community from the view of the working artist.

With the always-popular topic of the Art’s in any Southern California community, especially here in Long Beach, the discussion inevitably covers the topic of events. We’ve all seen numerous Arts titled events many of which, have become extremely popular.
This week Swoop’s World takes a look at the arts and events within Long Beach and the Southern California arts scene from an artist’s perspective. We’ll explore the topic, seeking to discover if these events are truly “arts events” that create exposure, and profits for artists, musicians, crafters etc, or has the focus been shifted, and these events morphed into “social events” that have created a place for friends and neighbors to gather and schmooze.

We also have Taylor Nelson and Chris Livingston of LB Food Review joining us for the conversation and of course another great food review. Ray Pok of our segment The Buzz is sure to have some terrific insight to add to the discussion as always.

Don’t forget to check back soon to see a list of confirmed guests.

Join us Wednesday August 18, 2010 @ 9pm.
