Stella is the founder of the Southern CA Green Economic Council and President of Green Education, Inc. Join us as Stella provides us with a glimpse of existing and up and coming green industries, organizations and green jobs. Stella Ursua was elected President of Green Education, Inc. in June 2012. President/Dean of Instruction at North American School of Green Technology, Stella has approximately 20 years of successful experience in Leadership & Employee Development, Instructional Design, Human Resources and Workforce Development. Stella led the training function for several Fortune 500 companies, designing and launching business process improvement projects, management and employee development curriculums, and designing the processes required to foster continuous performance improvement and world class service.

Stella and her partner, Marcia Tolentino, are currently launching North American School of Green Technology, at Hancock University in Long Beach, CA. Solar installation, Energy Efficiency Retrofitting, Building Performance Analyst and Green Facilities Management programs are some of the courses to be offered via the School of Green Technology. Stella and Marcia are committed to providing individuals with the knowledge, skills and abilities with which to successfully launch careers in rapidly growing green industries.

Formerly the Executive Director at Green Career Institute, Stella’s focus has always been about connecting young adults, veterans, women and unemployed/underemployed individuals with skills-based and world class green industry training programs. Approximately 1500 students were trained in the solar installation, design, sales and estimation process; many of these same students are either now working for solar power companies or, started their own company as a result of completing this training.

Prior to this, Stella created/launched the first green jobs training/placement program for a national veterans organization and was successful in providing 45 veterans and recently returned Iraq & Afghanistan veterans with access to green industry skills and knowledge with which to enter the solar power, energy efficiency and green building arenas.

Stella received her B.A. in Organizational Management at the University of La Verne, and completed her LEED Green Associate Accreditation with the US Green Building Council. She also completed certification in Green and Sustainable Building at CSULB. Stella was recently selected to serve as a USGBC Regional Students Chair for the Center for Green Schools. She also launched the Southern CA Green Economic Council. Stella is committed to creating good green jobs and education here in the Southern California via Green Education Inc.
